Join the series of events online from April 2022 until March 2023

The East Africa Impact Days 2022 – 2023 is a series of four online events to engage and empower the social business community for 1 year. It is designed to bring together like-minded people and pioneers of change in an interdisciplinary way - for an open exchange and learning journey focusing on Zero Unemployment, Zero Poverty, and Zero Net Carbon Emissions and bringing out the best practices.
After the success of the first and second East Africa Impact Days were launched on April 5, 2022 and July 26, 2022, the third East Africa Impact Days will take place on December 21, 2022. Join us - the social business community - for the second event “stepping towards zero unemployment through youth upskilling” and zoom in on the impact that is being created in the region of East Africa with youth and social business. Get inspired by the father of microfinance Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus and a mix of experts on how can upskilling contribute to addressing the unemployment challenge in East Africa.

The third event on 21st December 2022
STEPPING TOWARDS ZERO UNEMPLOYMENT THROUGH YOUTH UPSKILLING
Unemployment is a multifaceted issue with many layers and consequences. In 2022 the current median unemployment rate of the East African region is at 8,63 % with the youth and female inhabitants affected the most. Upskilling programs, a concept that has been around for many decades already and has been developing on the African continent in the last decades, is used to solve specific needs sustainably and inclusively.
In the third event, we will explore upskilling programs in East Africa and further investigate its implementation and contribution to zero unemployment with an inspiring event hosting great personalities like Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus, institutions, and entrepreneurs.

What you need to know about East Africa Impact Days
Why this program?
Inspired by these contemporary issues and the astonishing actions of the youth in the region, the social business organizations working around Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus and supported by the YY Foundation launched a program in 2020, “Create a brighter and Greener Future for East Africa Youth”, to tackle youth unemployment in the region through social business in an environmentally responsible way and to support social business from ideation to scale up.
The East Africa Impact Days are a moment in which the community bands together to present the impact of the program, showcase young green entrepreneurs' stories and initiatives that are creating a world of 3 Zeros with social business, and provide insightful and inspiring moments to learn about social business investment, growth, and acceleration.
