Build social business ecosystems
We transform cities into Social Business cities with ecosystems that tackle the 3 zeros (zero unemployment, zero carbon emissions and zero poverty) and that as a result encourage economic growth.
The Grameen Creative Lab supports in the formation of a social business city in all phases to implement the principles laid down by Prof. Muhammad Yunus.

Why should you become a Social Business City?
There are plenty advantages from the creation of a social business ecosystem, we list some of them here:
Promotes economic growth
By fostering innovation and entrepreneurship and creating a supportive environment for social businesses, cities can attract and retain talent, create jobs, and stimulate local economies.
Create social impact
Cities can leverage the power of social businesses (addressing social and environmental challenges in their communities) to create positive social impact and improve the lives of their citizens.
Increase sustainability
As social businesses prioritize sustainability and environmental responsibility in their operations, cities will encourage sustainable business practices and reduce their environmental footprint.
Encourage collaboration and partnership
between businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, and other stakeholders creating more effective solutions.
Build resilience
When addressing issues such as poverty, inequality, and environmental degradation, cities create a more resilient and sustainable future for their communities.

7 Elements of Social Business Cities
Active network
Creation of an active and cohesive network of private and public citizens and organizations that engage in their own and joint initiatives to facilitate self-sustaining growth.
Funding Commitment
Partners of the initiative (individuals, foundations, the government, corporations) commit to invest/are already investing in social businesses and initiatives to solve city problems. Depending on the geographic area and local contexts, investment minimums may vary.
Empower social businesses
Incubation and acceleration of social businesses aimed at solving social-environmental problems of the city through entrepreneurial and innovative models (social business). Depending on local contexts, the numbers of social businesses to be created and incubated will be defined (Generally in 2 years at least 3 social businesses must be incubated within Social Business City initiatives and at least 20 accelerated).
Social Business Centre
At least one local university is committed to establishing a Social Business Center aimed at studying the development of the social business ecosystem for the city. The center must submit a three-year plan.
Youth at the forefront
Young people are at the forefront of the movement and involved in generating social business ideas to solve the city's problems. They will also need to be represented in the organizations involved in implementing the Social Business City project.
Community Involvement
Efforts will be made to involve the city's business community, authorities, universities, schools and other organizations in Social Business City activities.
Transparency and Communication
Create a platform (website or social media) to showcase and propose the activities and results of the Social Business City.
